Hieroglyphists

Hieroglyphists are experts in the ancient Egyptian writing system known as hieroglyphs. They are usually linguists, Egyptologists, and archaeologists who study this type of ancient written language. Hieroglyphs were used in Ancient Egypt until they were replaced by the Greek Alphabet in the 4th century AD. Hieroglyphs were written on stone and ceramic tablets as well as papyrus scrolls and walls of temples and tombs.
Hieroglyphists spend their time deciphering and interpreting inscriptions and images of ancient Egyptian writing. They use various methods to do this, including analyzing words, arranging paragraphs into meaningful sentences, and looking for patterns that may indicate secret symbols or messages. A hieroglyphist must also have a thorough understanding of the culture, religion, and literature of the ancient Egyptians in order to fully comprehend the inscriptions and images.
Hieroglyphists are also responsible for creating reproductions of original hieroglyphic texts. This is done using digital or manual methods that involve redrawing, tracing, and reworking each symbol. In some cases, hieroglyphists are also asked to create new hieroglyphs for modern purposes such as museum displays or educational materials. In this way, hieroglyphics are kept alive and used today in many different contexts.
